one of my jap friend is giving regular updates on fb ..... he's
got no gas, and part of the subway is flooded, but fine.
I think the differences between societies is telling. In japan
there's no looting, no widespread public disorder, and the death
toll, considering the magnitude of the earthquake, surprisingly
low. In china or pakistan or peru the death toll shoots up to the
tens of thousands very quickly ..... in japan it's still in the
hundreds ......
a very prepared and disciplined people, the nips ....
yeah. its their culture to try not to be knn lang.
in contrast, being knn lang is an integral part of sg culture.
thank goodness we're relatively sheltered from natural
disasters.
